Blue Cross Blue Shield -- Blue Angel Community Health Grants (Rhode Island)

The Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Angel Community Health Grants seek to fund projects and initiatives to improve the health of people in communities throughout Rhode Island. All funded programs must address increasing access to healthcare for uninsured/underserved populations and/or reducing disparities in health status for minority populations. In addition, funded initiatives must focus on mental health, obesity, or health literacy.

Applicants must be tax-exempt under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Service Code. All applicants should have expertise in the areas of focus. The average grant amount is $25,000, but letters of inquiry requesting any amount are accepted.

Deadline: June 27, 2008 (Letters of Inquiry)
