MetLife Foundation -- Community-Police Partnerships Grants
The MetLife Foundation, in collaboration with the Local Initiatives Support Corp., is accepting applications for its Community-Police Partnerships grant program. The purpose of the program is to improve community safety by supporting: 1) Neighborhood Revitalization Projects that reduce crime and improve economic development outcomes through community group-police partnerships; or 2) Special Strategy Awards that improve other significant outcomes in the areas of applied technology, aesthetics and greenspace improvement, diversity inclusion and integration, drug market disruption, gang prevention and youth safety, seniors and safety, or school safety.
Award amounts are $10,000-$25,000 for the Neighborhood Revitalization Awards; $15,000 for the Special Strategy Awards. Eligible applicants are U.S.-based community organizations, community development corporations, police/sheriff’s departments, community partnerships, Weed & Seed Programs, collaboratives comprising more than one of these elements, and public agencies (including police departments and public schools) who apply in conjunction with at least one non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that was a leading partner in the collaboration and will serve as a fiscal agent for award funds.
