U.S. Department of Health and Human Services -- Minority Substance Abuse/HIV Prevention Initiative
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is accepting applications for its Prevention of Substance Abuse (SA) and HIV for At-Risk Racial/Ethnic Minority Subpopulations Cooperative Agreements (Minority SA/HIV Prevention Initiative). The purpose of the program is to support projects that target one racial/ethnic minority subpopulation, such as adolescents (age 12-17) or young adults (age 18-24), in building sustainable substance abuse and HIV prevention programs.
Award amounts are up to $400,000 per year for up to 5 years. Eligible applicants include community-level domestic public and private nonprofit entities located in and proposing to provide services in a State, Metropolitan Statistical Area, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, or the District of Columbia with an annual AIDS case rate of at least 10/100,000 population.
