Brookdale Foundation -- Relatives as Parents Program Local Initiative
The Brookdale Foundation is accepting applications for its Relatives as Parents Program Local Initiative. The purpose of the local initiative is to create and expand services needed by grandparents and other relatives to perform their surrogate parent responsibilities through funding at least two of the following areas: benefits and legal guidance, educational seminars, individual and/or family counseling, health care services, childcare, housing assistance, children’s services, group recreational activities, transportation assistance, services to special populations, services with local schools, other program initiatives, and mental health services.
Award amounts are $10,000 over a two-year period: $6,000 in year one and $4,000 in year two. Eligible applicants include organizations throughout the U.S. that have 501(c)(3) or equivalent tax-exempt status.
