National Institutes of Health -- Research Demonstration and Dissemination Grants (R18)
The National Institutes of Health
(NIH) is accepting applications for its Research Demonstration and
Dissemination Grants (R18) program. The purpose of the program is to
support programs that test the effectiveness of interventions in
children, adolescents, and/or adults to: 1) promote healthful
behaviors; 2) reduce risk factors for heart, lung, and blood diseases,
and sleep disorders; 3) improve the prevention or management of heart,
lung, and blood diseases, and sleep disorders, including the delivery
of health care services; and 4) enhance understanding of the processes
of intervention implementation and diffusion, or sustainability in a
defined population, or defined clinical or community setting. Award amounts vary; applicants must follow the NIH
Research Demonstration and Dissemination Projects (R18) grant mechanism
and submit a budget for at most 5 years that has costs limited to at
most $500,000 in any single year unless prior approval is obtained.
Eligible applicants include, but are not limited to the following:
public/state controlled or private institution of higher education,
nonprofit organizations, small business, for-profit organizations
(other than small business), state government, historically black
colleges and universities, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian serving
institutions, and faith-based or community based organizations. Deadline: September 25, 2007 (Cycle III)
