Physical Activity and Healthy Eating Before/After School and Summer Pilot Program (Michigan)

The goal of this program is to increase the physical activity and healthy eating of grades K-6 youth through before-school, after-school and summer programming, as well as, increase the number of youth in these types of programs. Increasing physical activity time for youth is a major focus of this program to assist them in reaching 60 minutes of physical activity daily. The programs should be held throughout the school year and can include school breaks as well as summer.

Awards of up to $100,000 will be granted to select applicants. School districts, community-based organizations, private facilities, park and recreation centers, and other organizations serving youth before-school, after-school or summer programming are eligible to apply.
