Online Database Makes Searching for Firearm-Related Articles Easy

Consumers can now search for firearm-related articles through one website, thanks to the Firearms Research database compiled by the Harvard Injury Control Research Center. The database, funded by a grant from The Joyce Foundation, is a searchable collection of social science, criminology, medical and public health research, and law reviews relating to firearms. The website is designed to make scholarly articles more accessible to advocates, reporters, law enforcement, public health officials, and the general public. Articles included on the website were identified through a search of academic databases. Content can be searched on the Firearms Research website by keyword, title, author, topic, publication, or date. Each article offers a full bibliographic citation and brief summary of the article. Currently the database only covers articles published from 2003 to 2008, but will be developed to include articles from 1988 to present.
