A Comprehensive Approach to Good Health and Wellness in Indian Country (DP14-1421, or GHWIC) has long-term goals of reducing rates of death and disability from tobacco use, diabetes, heart disease and stroke, and reducing the prevalence of obesity. GHWIC supports a coordinated, holistic approach to healthy living and chronic disease prevention using community-chosen, culturally adapted policies, systems, and environmental improvements to achieve these goals.
The purpose of the award is to improve the reach, quality, effectiveness, and sustainability of asthma control services and to reduce asthma morbidity, mortality and disparities by implementing evidence-based strategies across multiple sectors.
The Indian Education Formula Grants to Local Educational Agencies (Formula Grants) program provides grants to support local educational agencies (LEAs), Indian Tribes and organizations, and other eligible entities in developing elementary and secondary school programs that serve Indian students. The U.S. Department of Education (Department) funds comprehensive programs that are designed to meet the unique cultural, language, and educational needs of American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) students and ensure that all students meet challenging State academic standards.

School-Based Mental Health Therapist – Pride in North Carolina, LLC (Elizabeth City, NC)
The Therapist is responsible for conducting screening, evaluation, assessment, and treatment to children in the school system. Persons in this position will provide diagnostic assessments and individual or group therapy. Family therapy may be required at times as well. They must work closely with school personnel, the client’s physician, other clinical staff, and community agencies. This position requires the ability to work in a mutually respectful partnership with persons served to gain the skills and confidence to address any issues and problems they face. A working knowledge of practical application of supportive therapeutic approaches, group dynamics, and family dynamics is required. They may be required to attend and participate in meetings on behalf of the company and the client.
Schools-Based CSCT Therapist – Intermountain (Helena, MT)
Comprehensive School Community Treatment (CSCT) is a School Based Service that provides therapeutic support for children and families in a manner that promotes success in school, the family and community. Services are provided by a master’s level therapist and a specially-trained mental health specialist during the school day as well as the child’s home, if needed. Therapeutic activities are also provided on non-school days during school breaks and throughout the summer vacation.
